During the big ice storm of ‘96, I awoke from my sleep, a three-and-a-half year old, and asked my father if I’d gone blind. The power was out and I couldn’t see a thing. This is one of my most vivid memories of when my parents were still together in the old house. My dad escorted my sister and me downstairs. If you let go of the button, the light would go out, so we took turns pushing the button.
